Political Season

Well I think it is about time we started talking about the political season. You know we all have opinions. So I am curious as to how the Clan is looking at the upcoming elections. I know I really don't fit into either major political party and really fall more towards Consitutionalist. My feeling is that we need more personal responsibility, that our military is to be used for defense and not nation-building. I think the government is too big and certainly stepping way beyond their definition as established by our founding fathers. I don't think it is anyone's business about who marries who (gay marriage) and I certainly don't think the government has a right to eavesdrop on conversations in the name of national security. I think "Pro-life" is a stupid name...who isn't pro-life? I don;t believe in abortion, but if one feels the need for an abortion that is between you, your partner and your God. And if an abortion is wanted, don't look to tax-payers to pick up the cost. I also think that campaign finance reform is desperately needed...otherwise the richest guy or gal wins. I think if you crossed the border into the US illegally, you are not entitled to citizenship, that you go to the back of the line. Well how is that for firing up the ol' blog?

Hi
I didn't want to be the first to comment, but after several days of no response, I just wanted to ask the question.
Why are we afraid to discuss our views????
Here is mine. I want a country that will work together with others and with eachother. I want them to be prepared to make the tough decisions. "Don't sweat the small stuff".
Why is it more important who we marry than why we are at war?
I do see myself as a democrat only because I so not republican!!!
I really don't know what i will do. Right now I would not mind a gender change in the White House. It really may change a lot about how we look at things. Comments??????

Hello,
I wouldn't know to begin to respond to the previous posts. Shamefully I don't follow the political areana close enough to make an informed comment. Only to say I do believe I am a very conservative republican.

On a different note, how do I start a new post.
