Ok Clan,
So Saint Patrick's Day is coming up, and truly one of my favorite holidays. And no, not because of the Guinness. I am a frequent patron of Harrington's Pub in Wakefield and have been doing some videos with them over the past couple of years. The owners are from County Cork and County Dublin and one goes by the Name of Dan O'Neill...and O'Neill is a relation to Hegarty. So 'tis a wee world indeed. Harrington's has an Irish Seisun every Wednesday night. Local musicians pop in and they just start jamming, it is an excellent take if you are ever looking for a taste of the Ol' Sod. So whatever your plans for the holiday enjoy and be safe.
Now Saint Patrick's Day also makes me think of ancestors and the such. Uncle Davey has been working on some pretty cool ancestry stuff and has gathered some excellent images. I'd like to use this blog for that as well. To add stories about relatives, share thoughts of Clan members passed and start to develop some geneology elements that we can share; pictures, stories, interesting facts. So if you have something to share, do so. Then maybe I can actually pull it together into a DVD format and send copies to the entire Clan...no promises...but just maybe.
Slainte!

Political Season
Well I think it is about time we started talking about the political season. You know we all have opinions. So I am curious as to how the Clan is looking at the upcoming elections. I know I really don't fit into either major political party and really fall more towards Consitutionalist. My feeling is that we need more personal responsibility, that our military is to be used for defense and not nation-building. I think the government is too big and certainly stepping way beyond their definition as established by our founding fathers. I don't think it is anyone's business about who marries who (gay marriage) and I certainly don't think the government has a right to eavesdrop on conversations in the name of national security. I think "Pro-life" is a stupid name...who isn't pro-life? I don;t believe in abortion, but if one feels the need for an abortion that is between you, your partner and your God. And if an abortion is wanted, don't look to tax-payers to pick up the cost. I also think that campaign finance reform is desperately needed...otherwise the richest guy or gal wins. I think if you crossed the border into the US illegally, you are not entitled to citizenship, that you go to the back of the line. Well how is that for firing up the ol' blog?

New Year...New Plans?
Ok, So now that everyone has gotten past th eholidays and we are fully in 2008...what are your plans for the year ahead? I have plans for home and for business. For business; my partner and I are looking at moving to new office space. Arlington has been great, but we find that we need slightly more professional digs and larger offices. We are actually looking at some space in Stoneham...clearly I am never getting out of that town. We are also planning a shoot in Italy and Greece during the summer months for our client Brian Moore Internaitonal Tours. If you are thinking about traveling to the Old Sod or want to explore the Scottish side of the clan (oh and there is one me lasses and laddies)...I suggest checking out this company at www.bmit.com
On the homefront, my plan is to work with my mom more in helping to provide additional support for my dad. As you all know his cognitive skills aren't quite as sharp as they once were and most likely the impact will be greater as time progresses. When I last spoke with Auntie Marie, one of her concerns was my mom and dad, I promised her I would be there more for them...so it is time to keep that promise.
So that's what I got going on...your turn.

Oh, I see...
I didn't notice the title bar before. I don't mean to muddle things up.
Nona and I just got back from a day of house hunting. Didn't see anything we liked enough to say "this is the one" though. Disappointing. We thought we would have found something by now, but the houses in our price range have too much wrong with them, and the ones we like are too much money. But we will keep on looking. There is bound to be a happy medium out there somewhere...
